Very special, beautiful campground especially on weekdays. Hiking is amazing. The river is the ideal backdrop sound for a peaceful night under the stars. Great back-in and tent site on the edge of the streams. No cell coverage.

The campground is my go-to regional favorite over the last 30 years. It's very well maintained, has many nearby trailheads to explore, and the Middle Saint Vrain river flows through it. This trip we were greeted by a moose at the entrance upon arrival. Another strolled through our campsite while packing to leave. We had a wonderful stay.
I was not prepared to find that campfire wood was not available to purchase from the camp host as it has always been in the past. Also, all water standpipes were unavailable for use. Luckily we brought enough water for consumption and quenching the fire.

This is absolutely one of our favorite campgrounds! It’s easy to get to, well maintained, and has so much to do right there. My kids love the trail and river.

The vault toilets were the cleanest I have ever seen and the rest of the campground was very tidy. We also got to see three moose just hanging out around the site. There are some great walking trails nearby with a variety of intensity levels.

Great fly fishing. Cycling and walking trails in and around campground. Unfortunately, water was not available in early August.
Road very rough/damaged into campground. Speedbumps seem unnecessary.

From Denver, travel north on Interstate 25 north, to U.S. Highway 36 and continue west through Boulder, to Lyons.
From Lyons, take Highway 7 for 12 mi to Highway 72, then continue south for four miles. Watch for signs for Peaceful Valley and Camp Dick Campgrounds. Turn west onto Middle Saint Vrain Road (County Road 92 & National Forest System Road 114) and proceed approximately one mile to Camp Dick.
Highway access
Camp Dick is accessible via Interstate 25 to U.S. Highway 36, which continues to Highway 7. Highway 7 provides access to Highway 72, leading to County Road 92.
