We did not even stay at the site we reserved because our truck and trailer did not fit in the space. Not only that but we could not even open our pop-up because there was another trailer 5 feet from our trailer. the map of the campsites is deceiving. it looks as though there is plenty of space between campsites. We looked around to speak to the camp host who was nowhere to be found. We went home very very disappointed. Big waste of our time and money.

Great campground! Super close to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Vault toilets were clean, and water was on when we were there. We stayed in Site 15, which was relatively private, shaded by silver aspens, and full of wildflowers. Sites are nicely spaced, and 12-16 have mountain views. We had LTE coverage on Verizon from our site, which was a nice surprise. Take the short Vista walk (by sites 19/20) for a great view; we also took the more challenging Raccoon Trail up to Panorama Point in the nearby state park and really enjoyed it. Nederland is a cute little mountain community about a 20 min drive away that's good for groceries, gear, and restaurants.
The *only* minus on this campground is the highway noise, which can be heard from all sites. I would not recommend staying in any of the sites next to the highway--they overlook the highway and have little privacy.

The camp site was not groomed as other forest service camp grounds are. The fire pit looked like it had not been cleaned all year, full of ashes. Not raked as most camp grounds are, won't go back.
