Always make an annual campout to this campground. Always nicely kept and clean restrooms. A nice hike at the end of the campground up to a vista overlook that has awesome views of the mountains. Highly recommend this campground.

Beautiful area in our state. Spots were fairly close to each other. Bathrooms were clean and the hosts were helpful. Unfortunately the wood we bought on site was either very green or wet. It was expensive too; $9 a bundle. Of course they don't want you bringing your own firewood so what's a camper to do? Our first night we had a domestic disturbance at a nearby campsite. The sheriff's office was contacted. It scared me. Too bad there are some bad campers out there. For gamblers, it's five miles to Blackhawk.

The location and the sites are some of the main reasons along with the upkeep and host's due diligence in making sure everyone does follow the rules so everyone can enjoy camping. Restrooms and our sites were clean when we arrived. The trail to the vista at the end of the campground is a must for fantastic views of the area.

Specious sites with pine trees nearby to hang hammock. Some highway noise during the day.

Getting There
From Interstate 25 in Denver, go west on 6th Avenue to State Highway 6, through Clear Creek Canyon. Turn onto State Highway 119, heading toward Black Hawk and Central City. Follow the highway approx. 5 mi north of Black Hawk, to the campground.
