Cold Springs remains a great campground close to the Denver metro area. And this year's campground host is the best in a number of years -- friendly, easygoing, and he keeps the toilet facilities the cleanest and freshest smelling they have ever been.

We camped at Cold Springs on a cold and rainy weekend but we loved it. Most sites are large and have plenty of trees for shade. The pit toilets were clean. We did some fishing at the ponds of the near by state park.

Camp here every year and as usual despite the weather this campground is a favorite. The camp host this year was very friendly and accommodating. He even delivered firewood to our site for us. Restrooms are kept very clean and stocked. Nice walking trail at the end of the campground and a trail up to a vista with fantastic views. Close to Blackhawk/Central City and other hiking trails. Only downfall is some traffic noise from the road near by
during the day but if you get sites at the end of the campground it's much quieter. We had major rain on this trip and some of our camp pads flooded so my suggestion is maybe fill in the low areas of the pads. I was pleasantly surprised I had some cell service this trip as usually I don't.
