The campground is clean and well maintained. The electric hookups are terrific which makes the campground very quiet most of the time.
There is a nice trail that goes around the entire lake approximately 3 miles and the lake is beautiful.
The fishing was okay, but the fish were not very active during our stay May21-24, so fishing was average at best. The weather was windy and cool most of the time.

Dowdy is a beautiful park! I love the easy access to the walking trail along the lake. The camp hosts were friendly and welcoming. I look forward to future opportunities to camp at Dowdy!

Our group had to cut our stay short due to weather conditions, but the 3 days we spent were relaxing. Hosts very helpful & informative. Vault toilets are always clean & campsite well maintained. Water was a little brown. Windy conditions made kayaking challenging. Great sunsets & stars viewing.
"Pasque" wildflowers had just started blooming.

The campground was quiet and mostly clean (there was still partially burned debris in the firepit and some piles of dog poop around our site). A bit disappointed that there wasn't a camp host present to purchase firewood from. Since reservations were still required (vs first come first serve), we did expect a camp host to still be there. Overall, though, after 20 years it's still one of our favorite places to camp.
