If thing were corrected, would have been a much better trip and site.
Site 17 is rated incorrectly for a 40 rv/trailer.
All neighboring campers agreed that it was almost miraculous that I was able to back my 38.5 ft fifth wheel into this site without major incident, such as rolling into ravine across the site.
Also note that the fire pit was full of ash and burnings 80% to the top rim. Although the reasons given by host were that it was a handicapped accessible site. This makes zero sense given that 95% of ALL sites there at Dowdy are rated in Recreation.gov as Handicapped accessible, and in checking all other sites(also designated as handicapped) we’re much lower and only about 25% or less filled.

Great site! Plenty of space around the site. You do have to walk in to the site. You park on a hill probably 50 yards from the site so you have to carry your stuff don't some stairs to the site.
Bathrooms were very clean and smelled like cinnamon.

We have gone to Dowdy Lake several times and always feel like we have won the lottery if we are able to get a campsite. However, this time I was so impressed with how clean the restrooms and sites were compared to other times we have gone. It was very noticeable and thank you to the 2022 camp hosts!

When we arrived at the campsite at 2pm, there was food pieces all over the site (apple slice, jelly beans and a large dog bone). Real bear magnets!!
