Dowdy is a beautiful campground. The USFS should consider adding more sites to Dowdy lake or start adding camp sites to other lakes nearby. The camp hosts were very nice and helpful.

Beautiful, uncrowded setting with lovely views. Toilets were very clean. Enjoyed hiking around the lake (2.5 miles) and other hikes nearby. Will probably bring a canoe or other watercraft next time.

We absolutely love Dowdy Lake. This time however our spot was super close to the toilets. We could smell them every day…all day! We stayed in #32.. this is the first time this has ever happened. The camp hosts do a terrific job of keeping them clean….just wondering if they need pumped since it’s the end of the season?

Not sure why small tents allowed to use large campsites! Why do you even ask when you make a reservation asks what type and size of unit your bringing in ? So if they lie , check the box for a fictitious unit they get away with taking a RV site! There is tent area and your not allowed to bring in RV! I know the virus caused allot of problems making reservations I went on line every day and and checked for availability and it seemed no matter what date you put in is was reserved? How did that happen when you have 180 window ?
