I enjoyed my visit to Dowdy lake. The campsite and facilities were excellent however the campground is densely populated and camp sites are very close together. This takes away the overall enjoyment of the beautiful setting. It would not prevent me from going again to camp at Dowdy, however it would be nicer to have more space between campsites. The lake is beautiful, the mountain bike trails are easy and easy to access and the facilities and maintenance are excellent.

It’s would have been great but has to move my camp site two different times a total of. Three settings up camp , complete Only because I wasn’t able to book 7 day Straight with your reservations which is very frustrating. Not sure if I want to do that a again. Seem like each time was. Half of day. Not enjoy your vacation and fishing trip.

This place was awesome. It was super clean and the bathrooms always had toilet paper and clean. Kathy the person on-site was so nice and helpful. Great fishing for my husband. And lots to explore for my child. Definitely will be making a trip back here.

Had a wonderful time at Site 21, Lake Dowdy. This was our 3rd or 4th year coming to the same place and we had a blast. The fishing was good, bathroom was well maintained and other campers were very kind. The only negative I could think of was there seemed to be quite a bit more trash around the camp. We took time picking up quite a bit of it but that was different from previous years. We will see you next summer Dowdy!

From Fort Collins, take Highway 287 north for approximately 24 miles to Livermore. Turn west on County Road 74 and continue about 23 miles to Dowdy Lake Road. Turn right, then another right onto Dowdy Drive and continue to the campground.
Dowdy Lake is accessed via Highway 287, which is approximately 24 miles from Fort Collins. From Highway 287, the route continues on County Road 74 for about 23 miles before reaching Dowdy Lake Road.
