The Mt. McConnel Loop was a very nice area. We were in R29 near the vault toilet and when the wind came out of the south our campsite stunk. The vault toilets were clean and did not smell on the inside. The showers were warm and clean. No flush toilets or dump station.
We hiked the Kreutzer Nature Trail to the Mt. McConnel Trail twice. Very nice views and cell phone coverage at the top. We also visited State Forest State Park and went on hikes.

It would be a great experience if there was water available to fill a trailer's tank

Excellent camping spot. Clean, well kept up. Quiet. Need to bring quarters if you want to use the shower.

What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the mountains. The managers keep that place clean and well stocked. One manager even gave us two bandanas for our dogs. We will definitely go back next season

The camp hosts were delightful to work with. We had signed up for a certain site that did not fit our camper very easily. We discovered another open site, and they were very very accommodating to let us switch because of the needs of our camper. We love that campground! We only wish it had cell service. That being said the camp host told us about driving to Glen Echo to get service once or twice a day.

The campground is incredible, the hosts have kept it clean and in fantastic condition given the challenges of degree of use and a challenging weather summer season. Truly need to give a 'tip of the hat" to the hosts and the care that is obviously displayed in the pit toilets, the camp sites and general condition of the campground. Made this an extremely pleasant stay which we will repeat several times.

We stayed 5 nights in tents. The bathrooms are outhouses and smell horrid during the day, but there are electric outlets at each site and plenty of space. Hummingbirds greeted us each morning and the Poudre River is absolutely stunning, as are the mountains all around.

Well maintained and clean campground with good spacing between sites. Nice shade for most sites. Level tent pads are a nice bonus. The showers had very good pressure and water temperature.
The only complaint we have was that the prevailing winds wafted the scent of the vault toilets through one of our sites (#29) fairly regularly.

Site 31 is really close to the road but the site is long. The sites are spread out but still close enough to say hi. The bathrooms were clean and stocked.
