I didn’t get to go and this reservation system was showing me other future dates and wouldn’t let me switch mine. I tried about 20 different times.

Pawnee is a truly amazing campground with fabulous wilderness hiking right outside your "door". Unfortunately this time the Forest Service decided to build a new trail right behind our campsite while we were camping there. They were using chain saws, a small front loader, and a large crew playing music and talking loudly. The noise and fumes were horrible. It was truly distressing to be run out of our campsite. The campground had only opened for the season less than two weeks prior. It would have been easy for the Forest Service to have scheduled the trail creation prior to the opening of the campsite. Everyone at the nearby campsites were completely dumbfounded by the profoundly poor planning by the Forest Service and they all left early or found someplace to go while the work was ongoing. Normally this spot is the epitome of tranquility in the forest. I'm sure it will be again when others visit in the future. But for this one time, I wish I could get a refund.

The hosts were very rude and tried to make us leave an hour before our reservation ended. The cost of firewood was ridiculous, and the extra 2nd car fee makes no sense.

Outstanding campground. Gorgeous like no other, and so much to do. Truly wonderful hosts that are on top of their job. The campsite was clean and raked when we arrived. The hosts were welcoming and very responsive to our needs and helpful. Site 37 is gorgeous, so is site 35. It gets cold at night, so pack warm. Get your mosquito repellant, it gets very buggy. All in all, we will be back. There are lakes to fish in and kayak. So many gorgeous trails to hike - it's a wonderland. Big thank you to the hosts for addressing our needs and asking those running generators to be quiet after 10 pm.
