The friendly hosts and beautiful natural setting enhance the atmosphere, making it a favorite for repeat visitors. Peaceful Valley was beautiful! The host came over just a few minutes after we arrived and made us feel welcome. The area was super nice with a good view. The spots were well kept, clean, and the outhouse/toilet area was super clean and actually smelled nice. I had good service as well surprisingly, so it's easy to get ahold of someone if you need to. Overall 10/10 recommend and I will defiantly camp here again!

The host, Preach, was great. We enjoyed the campground, it was clean and well maintained. Only complaint is the bugs but that’s nature right? Wonderful hike that was good for kids. We’ll be back for sure!!

So wonderful to be in the mountains! The trail between Peaceful Valley and Dicks campground is one of the most beautiful flat hikes we have ever been on. Moose visited us in the campground several days.

My good friends and I stayed there for two nights; we hiked to Beaver Lake in the early morning. Also, I joined my good friend who has a jeep for the off-road; T-33 trail. We were speechless after visiting a US Air Force Lockheed T-33's Crashed in the mountain. It happened on June 27, 1965. If you haven't seen this place? Then, I would recommend you to come and visit this place. We love it! In the future, we will revisit this place!

We camped midweek in site 2, after registering online for two nights. The tent pad had been raked prior to our arrival, and the firepit was clean. The Pit toilet nearest to that site was stocked and as clean as you can get that type of facility. Later in the day, the friendly camp ground host and his dog visited to answer questions. The site was long enough for our 18 foot trailer+ hitch, but we needed to unhook our truck and park it separately so it didn't extend into the roadway. My husband was able to get a good internet connection with a Verison JetPack. Maybe half of the sites were open, though when we booked our reservations it didn't look like we had any other options. It's a beautiful campground, but hard to get a site unless you book six months in advance. That is the downside, but these sites are spacious and I appreciate that, as many commercial sites pack trailers in like sardines, which isn't a great camping experience.

This used to be our favorite campground in the country. The vault toilets are not as clean or tidy as they used to be. The chance of getting a weekend site is nearly impossible because it books out very fast. Also we had site 5 which is "shared" with site 6 and we didn't know them. Our camper door did not face the fire or tables but the backside of the camper next to us about 5 feet away! Literally on top of each other. But it is still gorgeous there mostly. Beautiful river that you can sit near. Great skies at night. Wildlife! We had a bull moose come crashing thru the forest at night toward us at the fire and we took cover quickly and grabbed pictures. The tradeoffs are decent so it is still good to be there. Just more crowded and not as cared for. Also, those weekends ARE VERY BUSY and LOUD with the ATV and off road trails right up the mountain next to you (day use mostly).

Nice campground. Water was gross. Brown and had sediment in it.

Our site was right next to the rushing creek, so we slept to the sound of the water. The pit toilet was exceptionally clean. The views from the site were lovely, and a trailhead leading to so many miles of trail options was just steps away. So so pleased with this getaway, and no dealing with entrance reservations and crowds at Brainard!
