Not a good experience at all. Camping spots are crammed together. We might as well stayed home and camped with strangers in our double driveway. Won’t return.

Tim was the best camp host we have ever had and that is a span of over 10 years. He was filling in there temporarily before going to Rainbow lakes to host for the summer.

This is a beautiful spot between Jamestown and Lyons, which makes it a pretty quick trip out of Denver. We had our camper so the majority of the trip was fairly easy except for the last 20 miles or so that was a slow, steep vertical grade. The lush Aspen and pines trees make for incredible scenery around the campground but the campground itself is clear. The sites are pretty close together and don’t have any trees or natural obstacles for privacy. We had spot #3 so our picnic bench overlooked the rushing river and the trail opened up fight at our campsite.

Amazing campground with spectacular views. Camp Dick is next door and maybe not quite so windy.

Great campsite, very peaceful. However there was no water available. I had enough, but it is a negative factor for a longer stay

Buchanan Trail starts at the bridge before the campground. Watch out for Moose! Beautiful and quiet area. Perfect for a weekend getaway from all the noise.
