What Guests Are Saying

Stove Prairie offers a beautiful camping experience with great river access, clean sites, and friendly hosts, making it an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Many guests appreciated the serene location away from cell service, allowing for a peaceful getaway. However, some noted issues with the camp host's demeanor and the presence of non-paying day visitors, which detracted from their overall experience.

The site was clean and ready to go for us. Good spots next to the river. The walk in sites are secluded and easy to get to. The host introduced himself and had firewood for sale. Would love to go back!

Site 5 is beautiful, right next to the water. There wasn't much shade during the day so make sure to bring a canopy. Camp host is located down the way at Ansel Watrous in case you need firewood. You get 1 parking spot free, $8 per night for an extra vehicle.

Wonderful Campsite. We paid $765 to hold 7 of the 9 spots for 4 days. Camphost was great. But hordes of non-paying day visitors invaded the area all weekend. Host had to clean the bathrooms everyday. People walking their dogs and pooping on our campsites all weekend. Highly annoying fly fisherman all over the place. All the fish are caught & dead. Trespassers fishing for hours right in front of our paid campsite. They used our site for free. Need to put up more signs. There are two day use areas within a mile, but day users own Stove Prairie. Need at least a dozen signs clearly saying that if you did not pay a fee, do not stop here. Tried to tell the invaders but they took over anyways. Maybe cones and barriers with signs? Other people took our spots before we set up tents. Can I get a refund?

  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.

  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
