What Guests Are Saying
O'Haver Lake offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with stunning scenery and well-maintained sites, making it a popular destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Camp hosts receive high praise for their friendliness and cleanliness, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, issues such as limited water availability, noisy generators, and overcrowding during peak times detract from the experience, suggesting the need for improved management and facilities.

We had site 20, which was (in my opinion) the best site in the whole campground. It had a marvelous view of Mt. Ouray, and the kids enjoyed easy access to the water. Highly recommend coming here if you have kiddos. The only issue we had was our neighbors (who were apparently regulars) were a bit loud/partying during our first night. But when I asked them to please be quiet, they complied. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience.

This was our first time visiting O'Haver Lake and we were not disappointed. From our site, we had the lake in front and the mountains/forest in the back. We were in group site #11. It is a beautiful area with a great family vibe. Lots of kids on bikes or out on the lake on their paddle boards etc. Although we did not fish, the lake seemed well stocked and there were plenty of families who did fish. At night the campfires reflecting off the lake reminded me of a Terry Redlin painting. A great respite from daily life in the city. The road going in could use some grading, I am glad we were not flat towing at the time. The town of Salida is close to the campground and we visited one afternoon. There were many shops along with several restaurants and brew pubs. There is a nice park along the river. Seemed like a great little town.

Gorgeous Campsite, easy access from Salida. Met some super nice locals who are very lucky to have such a beautiful campsite near them. Camp Hosts were very nice. Was able to catch a rainbow trout on the lake. Can't wait to go back. Easy access from our site to put the paddle board in the water.

If reservations are not available, some campsites are first come-first served, also called "Walk-up" sites. First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the SAME NIGHT they are paid for. These sites usually fill Friday evenings and through the weekends. Due to the remote nature of campgrounds, calling to check availability prior to arrival is not possible. |
