What Guests Are Saying
O'Haver Lake offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with stunning scenery and well-maintained sites, making it a popular destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Camp hosts receive high praise for their friendliness and cleanliness, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, issues such as limited water availability, noisy generators, and overcrowding during peak times detract from the experience, suggesting the need for improved management and facilities.

O’Haver Lake is a beautiful little campground with a nice, trout stocked little lake. Our site was #16 and it was great, perfect for our small troop of four Boy Scouts and three leaders. We were disappointed that the water wasn’t on yet for our stay and no mention of that was on the website. Fortunately, you can load water for free down at the visitor center in Poncha Springs. We hauled up to 5 gallon containers pretty much daily, and that worked out fine. The campground hosts were delightful and very attentive. My only complaint would be that the mountain road leading up to the campground is in need of repair. There were many, many deep dips and holes to drive around in through. We were only driving cars up to the campground. I honestly don’t know how those trailers navigated the road without damage! All in all, it was a delightful weeklong stay. I highly recommend this campground, just be sure to be aware of the challenges getting up the hill.

Beautiful lake - very small but beautiful and full of fish! We went the first of May and had one beautiful, warm day. I will likely plan the next trip a little later in the season. Enjoy!

We loved this campground and lake! Nice clean water with beautiful hills and mountains in the background. This small lake is perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing without the loud sounds of big boat motors. You can also swim here unlike most lakes in Colorado. Camp hosts, Renee and Ron, were awesome. We camped at site 12 at the western end and they routinely checked up on us to ensure our needs were met. They gave us a parking pass to use at other locations in the area and some free night crawler bait for fishing. Clean organized campground with pristine vault toilets. My family and I really enjoyed the experience. We will definitely return in the future.

Great location - beautiful lake - almost no bugs. A bit crowded but pretty quiet in the evenings.

This is one of my favorite places to camp in Colorado with younger kids! Very easy access to paddle board and there were so many fish to catch!

If reservations are not available, some campsites are first come-first served, also called "Walk-up" sites. First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the SAME NIGHT they are paid for. These sites usually fill Friday evenings and through the weekends. Due to the remote nature of campgrounds, calling to check availability prior to arrival is not possible. |
