The fishing is great. The lake and scenery is beautiful. Great for kayaks, non motor water craft. The vault toilets are clean. There was no water available when we went. Don't bring too big of a camper, it is so very hairy getting up that steep winding road. If I would have run into another camper coming from the other direction, one of us would have had to back up quite a ways. I made it with a 21ft pull behind and 4x4 truck. The bumps are sooo deep and rough so stay 15 miles per hr and less. (There should be signs with what to expect, no way to turn around, going up) Its a good time. Worth the trip.

This lake use to be free when I was growing up nothing but a money grab now.Way overcrowded now the road going up is horrible the amount of money that is made off this once great campground that was free you could atleast maintain the road.I know it is a Forest service road but at least have them grade it the holes and rocks are ridiculous. The switch back above Marshall pass road turn off is by far the worst steep rocks, wash board, ruts, holes.

Sites are all beautiful.
Take TP with you, as the toilet was not restocked regularly.

Had two great experiences. One with TRAIL Life Navigators. The boys had a great time, earned some badges, learned how to cook and went boating.
The second was with family. the boys had a great time. learned how to fly fish. They cannot wait to go again later this summer. Plan to take friends from the Philippines. looking for possible available sites Last week of July.
Hosts were friendly, courteous helpful and very professional - Great Job -Good example for the boys.
