What Guests Are Saying
Cow Creek South is a popular campground known for its beautiful views, great lake access, and well-maintained facilities. While some visitors experienced challenges with weather, noise from generators, and issues with dogs off-leash, the overall atmosphere is peaceful and clean, making it a favorite for families. Many campers plan to return, especially during the summer months for a better experience.

Great campsite! No water views (lots of tall grass) but you are right up against the reservoir. Perfect for setting up a couple chairs and watching the sunset. Campsite was very spacious. A bit close to the adjacent spots but to be expected at a public campground. Since it's near the water expect some bugs/flies around. Two restrooms to choose from, both were a short walk away. They were pretty clean, although we did not see a host all weekend.

The highlight was how quiet and clean the campground was. The negatives were: the grass at our site needed to be cut (almost calf high), NO cell reception at all not even the host had cell reception which is a major safety concern, the road was very rough, the sites are not level at all, for the price I expected better.

LOVE this campground! Have stayed here twice now in the late summer and it was wonderful. Great facilities, amazing waterfront and the campsites are a great distance apart. The water levels in 2019 meant that water front site were actually quite a walk to the water but this year in 2023 the water was at 110% and the brush along the waters edge for most sites helped keep the wind and bugs away.

Loved this campsite. Removed enough from town but did not feel secluded. The campsite was very spacious and we loved being right on the water. The views were amazing and we enjoyed spending time there. The name of the campsite does live up to its name as the cows mooed all night! Loved the campsite and hope to use again in the future!

This was an incredible camping spot. My friend and I camped at spot #11 which was right on the water of the Green Mountain Reservoir. like about 6 feet from the water, which did mean it was very buggy, so be warned.
I wish I had known there were going to be bear lockers! It was great that they had the lockers, the fire pit, and the picnic table. There's also hole in the ground toilets with a seat nearby at other campsites that we were able to use as well. There's lots of hiking trails nearby, but the main attraction is to swim in the reservoir.

No camp host presence. Other campers were using construction grade generators all day and playing loud $&@ music until 1 in the morning. These campers were rude when approached and sadly thought it was funny that we had a concern

Spacious sites with privacy. Loved our spot right next to the water. The kids loved that they had their own little private beach. Rented a pontoon from the boathouse and it was the best 4 hours on the water with the family and dogs. Great location!

Lovely campground, cleanest chamber pot I've ever used, close to a beautiful resevoir where we could walk our paddleboards to the water
