Heaton Bay

There is a water spicket in the E loop and I would guess there is one in the other loops also. This water is fresh and drinkable, direct from water treatment plant. The short trail along Lake Dillon that is accessed from Heaton Bay campground is wonderful. It is about 1 mi with no elevation gain.

We love this campground for many reasons, however, when we arrived Friday around 1pm, all trash dumpsters were bulging full. Saturday, the campground host told us there was only one dumpster emptied in the tent area. When we left, Monday, all dumpsters were still full, so we had to pack our own trash out.... Not cool, especially right after the Memorial Day weekend.

Clean, well maintained, great campsite. Right near a bathroom but couldn’t see or smell it.

We love this campsite. It's very close to town while feeling isolated in the wilderness.

First time here and will be back. Exceptional place, hosts were very active and always available.

Great campground! Stayed in Loop C for 4 nights. Quiet. Convenient to all that Summit County has to offer. Garbage bin did get overflowed.

Beautiful location. Bathrooms, bear storage and site were clean. Hand sanitizer in the bathrooms would be a bonus.

Very nice campsite, very friendly hosts, clean bathrooms. The only thing to note is that the place to put the tent is too far from the picnic table but good experience anyway.

Love this campground. Perfect place for bike riding all over Summit County.
