This is a great campsite if you want close proximity to Lake Dillon, Frisco and Breckenridge. Really liked the paved roads and pad for our pop up camper. It made it less dusty and dirty overall. One thing that no one mentions in their reviews is that this site ( and 3-4 others) butts up right against the road where cars enter the campsite AND up against Dillon Damn Rd AND I70. It is noisy and you will always hear cars. I had to put on a sound machine on my phone to drown out the noise while we slept. So if you are wanting quiet this is not the campground for you. There are several loops in this campground and you can hear road noise from all. We had no interaction with the camp host who was 2 sites down. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and didn't smell terrible at all.

This is the place for a great camping vacation, take extra blankets it was the end of august and it got to 42 degrees at night. Loved the fact that we had the lake as our backyard 🥰

Site was close to water for easy kayak drop off. Beautiful lake for kayaking with lots of places to explore. Biking around the rez was right outside the campground. Perfect location for hiking as well.

Site B21 is very nice, with trees on both sides so neighbors don't seem so close. It is a short walk to the reservoir for kayaks and paddle boards, with great views of the mountains to the east. The bike trail is nearby with access to Frisco and Dillon.
The bathrooms are across the road but had no odor. However, one of the two toilets was locked which meant a waiting line in the morning hours. Not sure why the one was locked. Never able to ask the campground host because we were gone most of the time. Otherwise, all was quiet except for the traffic on I-70, a given at Heaton Bay campground.
