Camphosts where very helpful and kind.
Beautiful lake setting, busy with traffic noise but that cannot be helped. We had a great time

The only downfall here is the constant road noise. You should expect that. But the campground was great, the camp host was friendly and helpful. We had a spot right by the water so it was great for kayaking and fishing. I would stay here again.

The campsite was good but being a group of Hispanics we felt the discrimination/racism heavily at this campsite. While other (white) guests were being greeted nicely and given proper directions/instructions we were being left for last, they were up-charging us for parking when it was already included in the reservation, and you could tell they wanted us out as soon as possible. Catherine and both male Camp Rangers were pretty obnoxious when speaking to us and threatening to tow cars that weren't even ours. We wanted some peace and relaxation and we could not really enjoy the one week stay due to the camp rangers. Threatening us to "not make them come back out" when we weren't even being loud or messing with other campers and minding our own business is a sure way to push people away from this campsite. Beautiful sights, but I would not stay here again. Hopefully the discrimination and racism in this place ends soon.

We had a great time at Heaton Bay campground, it is beautiful there right on the lake and we had a great time in the lake with our kayaks and riding the bike trail on our bikes, it is a really special place. The campground is very well taken care of and the restrooms are nice and clean! We’ve stayed here multiple times and we’ll definitely be back.
