About Peak One

Peak One Campground is located on the Dillon Reservoir near the town of Frisco, offering an abundance of recreational activities. The reservoir is encircled by Swan Mountain and the dramatic Gore and Tenmile Ranges. This campground is an ideal setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation. Due to the pine beetle infestation and removal of hazard trees, there is little or no shade in the campground.

What Guests Are Saying

Peak One is a well-loved campground offering spacious, private sites with beautiful views and excellent access to biking and hiking trails. Many campers appreciate the cleanliness and recent improvements, such as reopened bathrooms. However, some have expressed concerns about noise from generators and camp hosts, as well as issues with bathroom facilities and access to the lake due to low water levels.

Campsite was in a beautiful area and convenient from I-70, which was nice for us as we were on a road trip, but was quite loud and chaotic. Several couples were screaming at each other all night. Approached by individuals without masks. Nearby town also took away from the scenic beauty of the lake for us. Probably a great spot for younger people to party, but not a serene, remote, or natural spot if that is what one is looking for.

The campground is so conveniently located to many outdoor activities, and we especially enjoyed the Adventure Park and kayak rentals at Dillon Reservoir. The hosts kept a clean camp and did a good job of keeping the noise down in a large, full campground.

Decent campground hosts, flush toilets clean and working, sites are fairly private but smaller, which isn't an issue for us as we have a campervan. Really nice close access to the Dillon Reservoir for paddling/fishing, and access to the trail system for biking/walking.

The campground and bathrooms were very clean and well kept. The host family in circle C was very friendly and available to help answer questions for us.

Love this campsite and here's what to know... it still gets plenty cold at night, so bring a warm hat for evenings! There are a lot of people in the camp ground and in general in the area so if you're looking to get away from people, this is not where you should go. They have flush toilets, firewood for sale, and close access to town. It's quiet at night and the sunsets are beautiful!

THe site was really great as it was large and away from others. The hosts were very friendly. Our only concern was that there was alot of small trash in our site....candy wrappers, rope, dog bag trash...trash that should it seems have been raked up. But otherwise we were very happy with the site.

First off, the site really is in a beautiful location. The lake is near, and it’s truly a great spot. However, it’s packed! The sites are close together, there are very few trees for shade, and many of the sites I saw, including ours, had very little in the way of a flat spot for a tent. If your idea of camping is more of a house party, then this might be a good place for you.

Hoped to see the water but nice campground otherwise. Not a lot of trees but happy campsite.

It was very nice. We love that the sites are well spread apart. Having water available would certainly make it easier, however we are willing to put up with no water just to be able to camp there. Thanks for doing a great job.
