About Peak One

Peak One Campground is located on the Dillon Reservoir near the town of Frisco, offering an abundance of recreational activities. The reservoir is encircled by Swan Mountain and the dramatic Gore and Tenmile Ranges. This campground is an ideal setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation. Due to the pine beetle infestation and removal of hazard trees, there is little or no shade in the campground.

What Guests Are Saying

Peak One is a well-loved campground offering spacious, private sites with beautiful views and excellent access to biking and hiking trails. Many campers appreciate the cleanliness and recent improvements, such as reopened bathrooms. However, some have expressed concerns about noise from generators and camp hosts, as well as issues with bathroom facilities and access to the lake due to low water levels.

We had a pleasant time but would have liked a site with a better view of the lake. The showers were closed but we were visiting my son and were able to shower there. Sites were not private but nicely spread out. Maybe when the trees grow back it will be better.

The area was pretty rocky, but a great campsite!

Likely due to end of season, some of the facility and main bathrooms were shut down & the porta potty was not nice.
We asked a nephew who lives in the adjacent nearby town to come by on the afternoon for a short visit and some snacks.
The campground host came knocking on the trailer door and said he owed a full day payment for just driving onto the premise. He only stayed about 30-40 minutes, and said he was leaving. She finally let him off the hook, but was not very nice about it to him or us.
I realize there are rules, and hosts needs to be respected when asking people to understand how things work, but we deserve respect too. Probably will not go back to that particular campground.

Restrooms out of order indefinitely. Camp host told us the 60-year old pumps quit working and the pipes were failing, and there was no clear timeline to get them repaired.

Peak One is one of our favorite campgrounds to visit, due to its proximity to the shores of Lake Dillon, bike trails on the peninsula and around the area (bike from campground to Frisco, Breckenridge, Keystone, Dillon, Silverthorne, Vail Pass). Some of the sites are more private than others (due to both spacing and the beetle kill several years back which is starting to fill in now!), but we're usually able to get a good site if we plan ahead. Love being able to launch our kayaks or paddleboards directly from our campsite. The views cannot be beat...

Very nice place, would go again. Great mountain bike trails right from the campsite, and the Frisco bike park just a short ride away.

Extraordinarily nice camp hosts. They made our stay very enjoyable. The campground itself is beautiful, but having wonderful camp host made our experience there unforgettable....thanks.
