We had a great time and the lake is beautiful this time of year. The campground was full and you could hear the happy sounds of children. Nothing annoying, just people having fun and enjoying the weather and scenery. I'd love to come back.

We love Prospector Campground! This was our 2nd time back and itβs always been really well maintained. This site is nice, thereβs enough young trees around to provide a buffer from your neighbors but not really to provide shade. We had 3 tents set up for our group and were comfortable.

Camping for the first time at Prospector, we had a wonderful time. Our site 016B is a pull through, not perfectly level but easy enough to set up our 25 ft trailer. The site includes a picnic table and fire ring with a grate. Our views of the mountains where amazing and we had the best view for sunsets. The site had plenty of privacy and felt large as it was an open meadow with short pine trees. We enjoyed the trails for easy hikes that are accessible from other loops. This was first weekend in June, so the water was not turned on. The vault toilets were still nearly empty making them very tolerable. The generator hours are early and some rigs started their generators as early as 6:45am and ran them for several hours every morning and evening. We love this area and plan to return.

So great. Beautiful site with great views. Campfire ring with grill cover was perfect for cooking. Neighbors nearby but still felt private. Also has two dedicated parking spots.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. The views are stunning and it is close to Breckinridge and Frisco.

This was our second time staying at Prospector Campground and it was just as great a the first time. A bit more crowded that it was the first time but just as quiet and peaceful as ever. Weather threatened to storm daily but each day ended up being nice, partly sunny and windy at times. Nighttime was when the rain came in.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday. |

Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day. |
