What Guests Are Saying
Burns Lake Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment, ideal for nature enthusiasts seeking tranquility and dark skies for stargazing. The campground features spacious, primitive tent sites with lovely views of the lake and access to wildlife and hiking trails. While some visitors noted minor issues, such as noise from nearby campers and basic facilities, the friendly camp host and overall serene atmosphere contribute to a positive camping experience.

Lovely, scenic campsite after a day of hiking in Fakahatchee. Some of fellow campers were loud, but what can you do

The campground is very open. Noise travels easily from one side of the lake to the other so be respectful with what you’re doing at your own site. The tent sites are nice and fairly well spaced out. This time of year it can still be very wet in the area though so plan to have a tarp under your tent to keep it dry. December in particular is typically wet and the second you step away from the campground and into the woods your pretty much in ankle deep water at least. It’s a good place to ride your bike on the dirt roads.

12/20 HIGH WATER! everywhere but the camp and road, and trails and side areas were flooded. tip w-look for camp fire wood on road in.
no biting bugs, but tons of 'may flies' non biting, but left a lantern on, and 10 min later thousands of flies covering table, lantern etc. use red light! ground was wet at night. and heavy due. vault toilets clean but no water, no power. no cell signal. could slightly hear trucks at night, just barely. dirt road into lake. has some potholes ok for cars, rv's. but go slow.
