What Guests Are Saying
Burns Lake Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment, ideal for nature enthusiasts seeking tranquility and dark skies for stargazing. The campground features spacious, primitive tent sites with lovely views of the lake and access to wildlife and hiking trails. While some visitors noted minor issues, such as noise from nearby campers and basic facilities, the friendly camp host and overall serene atmosphere contribute to a positive camping experience.

We only stayed here for an overnight as we were passing through but we had a long, level site for our 45 ft motorhome and towed Jeep. The sites faced the lake and we easy in and out. It looked like a great place to spend a few days.

I like Burns Lake and have stayed there at least a half dozen times for short periods. It is basic but the sites are roomy. Don't expect treed sites, there are few. Lake is 10 meters away and swamp forest on the other side 10 meters away. Lots to see and do in Big Cypress and Shark Valley of Everglades NP is not far.

I was pleasantly surprised! The site lent itself to a gorgeous sunset and sunrise. The tent sites were far enough from each other, but still close enough to the bathroom that it wasn't a hard walk. The signage was great to suggest possible hazards (bears, alligators, etc.). The ground was sodden, even when it hasn't rained for almost a month. I can't imagine how wet it would be if it had rained recently. Prepare properly with decent footwear and a good tarp for under your tent. The fire pits were a great size for a larger group. My one major negative had nothing to do with the actual site; one of the other groups had a Jeep with blaring headlights and kept speeding/drifting around the road late into the night. I felt unsafe walking along the road to go to the bathroom.

This is a small campground situated around a lake. All sites are pull-throughs with no shade and no hookups, but otherwise a very nice campground. No compaints from me. The host is very nice.

Stayed 9 nights, never crowded, quiet. Bass fishing wasn't too good. Kayaking on the river is always fun.

First time camping. Site was clean and dry, staff were helpful and warm, and other people there were pleasant.

Very quiet and restful place, just what we wanted for this 4 day trip. Super nice size sites so you don’t feel jammed up like some “piano key” type parks. A slow, easy kayak paddle around the small lake was nice too... no baby alligator sightings this year as we have seen on previous trips here. Cell service (AT&T) is minimal at best.

Please make it clear on either the website or on the reservation information that there is a host on the property. I almost didn’t make the reservation because I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a safe place at night. I never saw the host, however, but it was comforting to see that once I arrived.
