Midway Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment with clean facilities and friendly hosts, making it an ideal stop for exploring the Everglades and Big Cypress areas. Campers appreciate the privacy of the spacious sites, easy access to hiking trails, and the campground's cleanliness. However, there are some limitations, including a lack of showers and minimal cell service, as well as a need for better signage to ensure safety and compliance with campground rules.

It's a very nice area; however, we didn't care for no internet at all. The small pond where all the RV's park around it was a bit unnerving due to the alligators' that supposedly live in it. Then wander out, go walk past the one side of where RV's are parked, go to the swamp, then head back. The other thing that was unnerving is the one side where dogs are allowed, walking small ones was dangerous. There were warning signs for that.
Wasn't our kind of "safe" relaxing area. We left the very next day. Everyone from the hosts to the folks, were very nice. It's a great place if you have no dogs and just want to hang out in your rig.

Nice quiet campground fairly spaced out. Close to Big Cypress hiking opportunities as well as canal fishing spots.

Clean & perfect for a one night stay. RT 41 is a major thoroughfare for large trucks traveling across the state overnight. Not good if you’re a light sleeper

Great campground. Clean. Wide sites. Lake in the middle of the loop. We really enjoyed our time there. No water or sewer connections, but we knew that and were prepared. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location. Very central to the activities available in the Everglades. We were able to easily get to Shark Valley and all the walking trails.

We only stayed at Midway Campground one night; however, the campground was very nice. All of the sites were spacious and level. We are already planning a longer weekend in the future. Here's what you need to know. It is truly in the middle of the everglades. Phone reception is very low if it exists at all. The sites are electric only. They do have potable water on site that you can fill your fresh water tank. It's very convenient. Make sure you have enough food. Sounds funny but your looking at 20 miles one way in either direction to find food. That said the Oasis visitor center is close by and is very nice. There a road called "The Loop" that will also take you back to nice viewing areas. Airboat trips are available and again are about 15 to 20 miles on either side of the campground. Still, nice place to stop for a couple of days to enjoy the national park.
