Stayed for one night in January of 2025. Weather was cool at night and pleasant during the day. I did not experience any mosquitos at all. Camp hosts were very pleasnant. It seems all tables and bench fixtures are brand new ,concrete type. Bathroom was very clean and so was my site.

This campsite is clean and well maintained. The spots are a little tight for larger rigs however, there were Prevost and other large units in the campsites. I would highly recommend Midway.

Midway Campground is very unique. Though there is only power at each site, no water or septic, it is clean and well kept.
The location is very different from Flamingo. Flamingo is great for getting away from everything because you are very deep into the park, so the only facilities are those offered by the park. Midway, on the other hand, is set apart and feels isolated, but there are a variety of services nearby. The Mikosukee Indian tribe offers tours and cultural education, lots of airboat tours and the tram out to the observation tower are a short drive away.

Campground and restroom was very clean, campground host was friendly and helpful. There are fire rings which is helpful. There are bear lockers, but there wasnt too much wildlife at night from what I could tell, but still make sure to secure your food. Also a popular spot for astronomy, so I would recommend bringing red lights or not using white light very long. The bathrooms were nice, but had no showers just an fyi (at least the restrooms by the tents didnt have any and I didnt explore the rest of the grounds).

Great park so close to many things to do in and around the Everglades. The park staff is so friendly. Take the ride down to Everglades NP. It's so worth the ride. Do the scenic drives around Big Cypress. We saw so many birds and gators.
