This is a good campground from which to visit the northern Everglades and the Big Cypress, i.e. Turner River, Everglades City, and many hiking trails. Restrooms have running water and hot showers!
Although the campsites are rather close together, they have good views to the Big Cypress landscape.

Sites have a few trees. Road noise wasn’t too bad.

Campground was well run and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. There are HOT showers there now and cell phone coverage is excellent. Somewhere along the line generator use has to be more restricted than present. Camping enjoyment should not be compromised by the constant sound of generators. It has gotten to the point the whole experience is being ruined by those who seek to have all the comforts of home while ignoring the sensibilities of their neighbors. ENOUGH!!!

The campground host was very knowledgeable and helpful.
There are two dump stations nearby on Hwy 41. Fresh water at the campground. Nice bathrooms. Flush toilets and shower. Nice pond. It has several alligators in it. Excellent Verizon cell phone service.
Going east on Hwy 41 there is NO sign saying Monument Lake Campground. It just says Campground 1/4 mile. Going west there is NO sign.
Check out nearby visitor centers. (There are a lot of alligators in the canal adjacent to the Oasis Visitor Center.) Airboat rides nearby. Wotten’s is very popular. Casual dining in Everglades City. Don’t miss the Shark Valley Visitor Center east of the campground.

Wonderful weekend during the 2023 Everglades City Seafood Festival. Campground staff were extremely nice and informative. However, be prepared for the east side bathrooms and flies. Nature is nature. Other than that, neat and clean campground.

Very nice quiet location, spacious campground hot showers & bathrooms. No RV hookups, but a dumps station at near by federal campground. $14.00 pee night for golden Passport holders, $28.00 regular nightly rate.

The area is very clean and allows easy access to 2 visitors centers close by along with several Air boat ride businesses. The camp hosts were very friendly and informative. The Lake has several alligators and bird life. AT&T coverage was great due to a tower very close by. We would stay again for sure.

The campground hosts were great, the only problem i had was trailer next to me used his generator for hours on end, there should be a limit and it is now from 6 am to 10 pm to be able to use generator where it used to be 8 am to 8 pm, I dont understand the change, it really takes away from camping experience especially in parks and forest, people just sit in there trailers and motor homes, and have no interest in outdoors, let them go to rv park and keep forests and preserves quieter
