This was an absolutely beautiful area in the Bighorn mountains. We didn't go anywhere because we needed a break from being on the road. We were content with sitting next to the river and hoping we'd spot a moose (which we did not). We did however see a young deer who hung out with us each day. The campground was secluded and the whole area was void of any crowds. I don't know why it hasn't been discovered yet?

Great campsite. Right on the river. Had a little issue with the camp host I will put in the private remarks.
Other than that it’s a great campground and site.

We have returned to Shell Creek Campground eight years in a row, during June. It is small, and away from the main highway, so is usually quiet. However, on this year's visit, we were close to a big "coach" RV that liked to keep the generator on most of the day, and sometimes past 10PM, the time when all generators should be off. If they need so much power, why do they come to this campground? They should go to one with electric sites. We didn't even want to sit outside because their generator noise overpowered the soothing sound of the creek rushing past our site. Very disappointing!
The rest rooms were very clean, and the campground was well-taken-care-of. Just hated listening to incessant generator noise.
