Nice sites, boat launch, close to shopping. Negative is that watching boats lock through is no longer allowed and crossing the dam to the walking trails is now closed.

One of the premier campgrounds in America. The canal and locks scenery is resplendent. All facilities on the grounds are maintained to the highest degree of cleanliness. This location offers excellent proximity to shopping, services and the cultural amenities of Stuart, Port St Lucie and Fort Pierce. The pristine beaches of Hutchinson Island are within a 30 minute drive.

Great getaway just an hour from home base. Fun to watch the boat traffic on the Cross-Florida Canal headed to and from Lake O through the single lock. A bit disappointed that pandemic restrictions closed the small museum as well as the access to the large park across the lock, but plenty of room to explore the retention pond as well as the large county park next door, The few RV sites are close together but paved and well maintained (like all CoE campgrounds I've visited). Bathhouse is small but generally spotless except for someone regularly smoking inside while I was there...cigarette butts in the shower take a star away this trip...

We had a great time there, everything was very clean and the Ranger came over and asked if we needed anything and was very accommodating. We are going to go there for our annual party.
