What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground features friendly staff and well-maintained, clean facilities, making it a pleasant place to stay. Many campers appreciate the spacious, diverse sites and beautiful views, despite ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene, which has affected some amenities and scenery. While there are some drawbacks, such as restroom accessibility and low lake water levels, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Excellent. Campsites are spread out with some privacy. Bathrooms, although dated, were clean and tidy.

Camped on site 11A. I had camped there before and enjoyed the views and quiet. I was not able to hang my hammock this time due to over growth in the area where I used it on my previous stay. Overall, still a good stay. I do plan to return.

Wonderful campsite. Campers are pleasant and sociable. Entrance office greeter gave knowledge on Whittfield campsite close by.
This is our 3rd time at Petersburg and the Good Lord willing, we’ll be back plenty more! Hiking and biking trails. Easy access to waterfront.

Spot #78 was a beautiful site with an amazing view and a lovely beach area. It was clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only down fall was the bath house, since they haven't been updated.

Site 81 - I do not recommend this site for a 5th wheel. While the site is large enough for the stated 40' camper, it was impossible to get our 35' 5th wheel down there. We arrived early evening before dark & tried multiple times until finally putting a big gash & hole in the camper door from an unused, hard to see gate at the entrance that should be removed. The exit has a large tree IN the driveway (shared by another site), so couldn't back in either. There are too many obstacles for a 5th wheel to maneuver to get in and out of this site. There are 2 tiers down from the actual site, picnic table on the top one, fire ring on the bottom. Not too steep to the lake. We did move to another site. Bathroom was clean enough but is old and outdated. Park is very nice and the area and the lake are beautiful.
