What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground features friendly staff and well-maintained, clean facilities, making it a pleasant place to stay. Many campers appreciate the spacious, diverse sites and beautiful views, despite ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene, which has affected some amenities and scenery. While there are some drawbacks, such as restroom accessibility and low lake water levels, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

I think Petersburg has the best camping at Clark hill lake. We were a little disappointed at the slight reduction of maintenance in certain areas of the facility as compared to previous years. For instance, lighting around the shower houses is poor and not maintained.

This was our first time in an RV and our first time at Petersburg. The RV was marginal, but Petersburg was great. The campsite (#81) was easy to get into, very comfortable, right on the lake, and close to the bath house. Showers were clean and cleaned daily. The camp hosts were friendly and easy to talk with. Once we improve the RV situation (rent something better), we'll try Petersburg again.

Weeds, stickers and vines, should be cut more from site down to the water. and some have some steep drop offs that ae dangerous. Safety issue!!!

On arriving at our campsite we noticed a foul smell and reported it. Camp host was notified and he arrived and said we could move so cleanup could be done. That was ok but we had to leave family camping around this site. We ended up on the other side of campground. Over all we had great service from all employees at campground. Thanks to everyone at the campground.

ANTS WERE EVERYWHERE!!! We used over 4 cans of ant spray and still we couldn’t keep them out of our brand new camper. We liked the size of the site with crush and run. Campground should consider ground treatment.

There must be two set of rules for campgrounds. One set published that everyone can read and most follow. The second set of rules seems apply to the weekend campers, mostly. Even though the rules state that Sites are limited to 4 vehicles total. The site next to us had 6 vehicles and two trailers parked all around their site. This made it difficult to drive the loop.
