What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground features friendly staff and well-maintained, clean facilities, making it a pleasant place to stay. Many campers appreciate the spacious, diverse sites and beautiful views, despite ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene, which has affected some amenities and scenery. While there are some drawbacks, such as restroom accessibility and low lake water levels, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Wonderful place to camp, dog walk, ride a bicycle, and kayak. Petersburg gives Georgia State Parks a run for their money. But don’t worry, we’ll keep coming back to Petersburg.

Great visit, even though it rained most of our trip. We stayed on site 53 and the sunsets that we did experience were amazing! The campground for the most part is very well kept. The boathouse closest to site 53 could use some updating and cleaning, especially on the men’s side. Other than that, a great experience. We will be back!!

Beautiful campground. Almost every site is on the water. Most are large drive through sites with lots of space between sites and plenty of foliage separating sites for a more private feel.

We were suppose to check in May 24th I called May 25th and cancelled because my husband has cancer and was not feeling well I was told a refund would go before a committee and I would receive an email I called yesterday June 6th and explained that I had not gotten an email about a refund She could not tell me why I had not heard anything and offered the phone number for Petersburg Campground I told her I had called that number and it goes to a recording that they do not return calls Very disappointed!

Clean site. A little uneven, but it’s the lake.
