Very relaxing! Sites are very large compared to other campgrounds we've stayed in with many off the main road of traffic by at least 50 feet. Site 41, ours for the weekend, was very spacious and clean. Considered a pull through but you will have to back in to the power and water connections. It's set on a small cove not directly on the lake. Trash dumpsters are one campsite away and at 7:30 Friday morning the trash truck dumps them, so be aware. Very clean park that has been upgraded since Hurricane Helene hit, sites are larger, new gravel in sites are roads and an updated 2 spot dump station. Will defiantly be back!

We LOVED the campsites. They were really big, fit both of our cars easily, and were clean. The down side was the ants. They were everywhere! We bought ant spray and sprayed down as much as we could, but the site was infested. The outhouse was really gross. There is only one shower and two toilets. So many people were waiting and the outhouse was HOT. I would stay here again for sure, but only after spraying for ants and with a camper.

It was our first time camping at Winfield and we will definitely be back. It was so quiet, we had the best campsite and view. I can't wait until our next trip

Everything was great except the bathhouse. There is only 2 showers in one an I’m told only one shower in the other. That’s not efficient for the size of the campground.
Other than that the spaces are much larger than most campgrounds I have visited. And they are quite private.
We will be going back.

Our trip was peaceful and beautiful. The lots are large and wooded. The view of the lake was nice. We will be staying there again.

We are excited the park has re-opened, and the remodeled dump station is a great improvement.
Concerns:
Bathhouse soap dispensers are broken and were not cleaned regularly (same tissues on the floor our whole stay)
The volunteers that are now being used instead of working hosts are set up in prime waterfront spots, and are not staying daily on those sites.
Campers are unable to book these sites on recgov. …making prime waterfront spots unavailable.
Also, a volunteer cleaned a sites grill by using a blower sending the coals and dust throughout the neighboring sites.
As long time campers here, we wish the type of hosts you had pre-hurricane were still utilized.

Enjoyed returning to Winfield, first time after their hurricane recovery efforts. Rather pleased with what we saw. The new dual dump station is a vast improvement.
Aesthetically, there is a good bit of work to do “between” sites which would improve the overall view and feel. Still love the distance between sites that allows you to be more secluded and not jammed too close together.
Overall, a great trip and we will return for sure.

Very excited Winfield is back open after the hurricane. Our site 34 was great except for the stand up grill that is completely rusted out.
