Campsite was nice. Looked bigger. But still a nice site except for the glass that looked like had been from a broken car window. One of our furbabies picked up a piece in his paw and was uncomfortable for a night. I would to see more clean up at the some of the sites. Beautiful beach area

Corp of Engineers--Allatoona Lake-Sweetwater Camping definitely needs more water sites available with power. There are ample tent sites close to water level could be converted to power then unhook power when lake rises (which is rare anymore). This is especially important when you camp with a boat and have to move boat in and out of water every day. With a water site, a boat can be tied up at campsite. However, since Covid, there is NEVER any water sites available to rent. They are booked months in advance. Years ago, this was not a problem but the last couple of years, there are no water sites available. Corp could change their policy to convert to power until the lake rises ever few years & seldom happens.

Personally we have ALWAYS found Sweetwater a very pleasant place to stay. It’s quiet… people are nice… spots are maintained well. The host do an amazing job and always pleasant. It can get very busy at the gate on a Friday afternoon and they remain cool. Our favorite park!

We stayed on site #111 in a Jayco Seneca. Enjoyed every moment. Staff and host were outstanding and the rangers were very helpful and informative. The lake was awesome and our neighbors friendly. We will be staying again and highly recommend

This campground is fairly big with a lot of campsites. Our site was #10 and it was on a steep hill and at the end was very wooded. Trying to get down our embankment to the lake to fish was almost impossible, so I wouldn't suggest this particular site if you are wanting to fish. Our site was also very close to our neighbors with little privacy. It was close to the bathrooms and they were not that great. The lights turned off while I was in the shower because they were motion sensored by the door and couldn't detect my movement in the shower area. That was a little scary trying to find the door in total unfamiliar darkness. However, being able to camp and spend time outdoors with family was worth it but we probably will try a different camp site.

I enjoyed the campground and the beach was fun. The weather was great both days and the beach was a great place to be during the day. My dog loved the beach since it was very close to the campsite and shallow. I was surprised by the amount of birds on the lake. Also the amount of driftwood there was kind of cool.
