We stayed the weekend of April 15 through the 17th. This is our first time at Sweetwater. We reserved site 93 based on the proximity to our friends across the road and that it accommodated our 29 foot RV. Our friends who arrived earlier, told us that getting into that spot was going to be extremely tricky , and they were correct!! It is a beautiful spot, but it was very difficult to back into the site. There is a large rock/boulder and a site marker across the road as well as a ditch with a several foot drop on each side of the driveway of our site. After attempting for about 20 minutes, other campers came out and helped us get it backed in. It still took about 45 minutes total. My husband is extremely proficient, but this was a site that a lot of the other campers said that they were glad that they did have to back into. My advice would be to only reserve the spot if you have a smaller camper and/or have the time, patience & ability. Other than this experience, our stay was perfect! Highly recommend! We will definitely be coming back, but using a different spot.

We have camped here many times and Sweetwater never disappoints. The sites are large, paved and level. Canton has lots to offer for shopping and restaurants, but we just enjoy being in the lake, which can be seen from nearly every site. We only wish it was open all year.

Site 36 was wonderful. Easy access to the water, except for all of the driftwood stacked up along the shore making it impossible to get to the water.

Great campground. Bath house could have used some cleaning but overall it was great!

Chekin the most detailed I've ever had and we use the federal park systems multiple times a year. Other than that trip was enjoyable , would recommend and we are going back.

Nice enough campground but pretty tight, hilly and difficult to get to level.
Pretty though. We only stayed one very windy night.

Check-in: Friendly, full of tips, answered my questions/ helpful.
Campsite: Better than expected from photos. Level for rooftop tents or car camping with room on the sides. Enough space between campsites. Good view of the lake. Some noise from pickup trucks coming and going from their sites, and boat noise - - both mild and tolerable.
Bathrooms: No hand soap or paper towels; hand dryer was old and icky; floors never dried because of humidity levels in the area; made for soggy toilet paper and toilet seats. Showers are dated and needed a little bit of maintenance but worked for a hot shower to get clean; unless you found yourself in the stall that flooded (thank goodness I was warned before I experienced that).
Atmosphere: Mostly campers were polite and respected quiet hours until the last night there was a rowdy group until 1am. Lots of families/ kids riding bikes around. Friendly campers overall. Gates are locked overnight, so I generally felt safe walking around and didn't worry about my stuff too much. Park staff or sheriff's were seen patrolling.
Internet: Starlink worked with some interruptions, which will be more prevalent once the leaves fill in.

Went for a long weekend camping trip. The host checking us in were very friendly and courteous. The park was very clean, including the restrooms.

Campground was very nice in most respects. Site was easy to get into, but puling out requires care as the exit is narrow and you must be careful not to put the camper's wheels the ditch. We pull a 42 feet fifth wheel. Shorter units would be OK.
