Beautiful area in Carter's Lake. Fall leaves and quiet. Town of Ellijay nearby with all your shopping needs in apple country. Campground is on winding road. New bath house being built on loop 1.

Beautiful camp site, very nice area and views of the lake, and convenient access to lots of hiking or downtown Ellijay.

During our visit, the park was absolutely beautiful with the fall colors at full peak. This is a lovely place to enjoy the beauty of the season and to simply relax. It is obviously peak tourist season, as well. Ellijay was doable in terms of traffic and there were a number of small, heartwarming festivals; however, we were disappointed in several trips to nearby towns and attractions, such as Blue Ridge, which were thwarted by traffic and crowds. So my recommendation would be to stay fireside at your gorgeous Doll Mountain campsite, relax, and take in the peace and quiet of fall and the riot of color in the forest.

This was our 2nd visit to Doll Mountain and it continues to be one of our favorites. All of the sites are level and have a beautiful view of Carter Lake. It was especially beautiful during our stay with the changing leaves. I only wish it would stay open a couple of weeks in November. Hiking in the area is also very nice.

The campground is nice, but, whoever came up with the prefab speed bumps should have to be responsible for all the damage they do. Speeding is not required for the damage.

The campground is beautiful ! The sites are well-spaced. The park hosts were very nice and helpful, especially Susan and her husband. We have consumer cellular and did not have any service. We received an e-mail before our trip that stated the first bath-house was being remodeled and would be completed the day before our reservation, but the new construction had barely begun. The current bath-house is rather old, but the cleaning staff kept it very clean and well-stocked. There are numerous apple orchards to visit during the fall apple season. We had a lovely time.
