My family camped for here for four nights at site 20 in the developed camping area. Although these campsites are set up for RVs they are spacious enough for tents as well which is what we stayed in. We loved our site it was very clean and there was a path that we could walk down to a private beach just behind our site. This was absolutely wonderful as we brought several kayaks and were able to keep them down on our little private beach and head out onto the lake with ease. There is a good bit of poison ivy in the woods around the sites so watch out for that. Site 20 has big trees all around it so is mostly shaded but water is still visible from the campsite. The campgrounds bathroom and shower facilities were a short walk from the site and the building looked brand new and very clean. We will definitely plan on staying here again. One thing to note is that when you stay at one of the campgrounds on carters lake you have access privileges to all of the campgrounds and parks on the lake that are managed by the army corps of engineers. This includes the Harris Branch Beach which is on the other side of the lake but worth a drive in my opinion if you're looking for a nice sandy beach to spend the day at. Overall a very pleasant stay. 😊

This campground is a gem. The lake offers a great way to cool off, and the sites are well maintained.

Woodring is one on the best campgrounds ever! The spaces are great and the views are absolutely beautiful. The only negative is the campground is closed from Labor Day through the end of May. It should stay open year round!
