The campground is lovely and our lake access for the boat was quite close to our campsite. However, the site needed gravel, too much red dirt showing plus steep sides so getting down to the tent site was a little tricky. Needs some grading as well. We had a heavy rain and our tent ended up sitting in a pond. The table and fire ring area was drier so clearly needs some leveling.

The relative privacy of our campsite (42) made camping especially pleasant. The lake is beautiful. We took our dog on his first camoubg adventure here, and he loved it. Woodring is beautiful. Check it out.

This is a stunning campground! Well organized well outfitted, with terrific amenities and lots of great sites. It's obvious why it's booked most of the year. However, when we went in late October of 2019 the person at the gate responsible for taking money or reservations was a complete jerk. It was like he was miserable to be there and was going to go out of his way to make everyone else miserable as well. Seeing as it was the last weekend maybe he was just ready to lock up and go home and didn't want to deal with campers for one last weekend. Luckily we were fine, we had paid in advance, we are seasoned campers and didn't need any help from the crotchety old man at the entrance gate. Rained the whole weekend and my family and I still had a blast. Just make sure your ducks are in a row before you arrive, as you will probably get little help at the gate.

Nice little campground on the lake. We didn’t see a bad site in the whole park whether you’re tent camping or staying in an RV. Looking forward to our next stay at Woodring. The host were friendly and helpful as well.

We always have a great experience at Woodring camp ground and look forward to many more.
We are disappointed that the length of the season is going to be shorter next year. We feel the season is to short already, but were shocked to hear it was even shorter.
Please pass on our disappointment.

Great time camping there but bad smell at our camping site. Smelled like a dead animal.

This is our favorite camping spot! Carters Lake is pristine, beautiful, wonderful. The water is so clean compared to other lakes. As for the campsite, it’s is also well maintained and the hosts are always really nice and welcoming. There’s really not a bad campsite in the place! We are bummed out over the shortened camping season beginning this year 2020 because of lack of federal and local funding. I really hope that changes before April 1st.
