Very disappointed with changing dates for 2020, especially the Sept 6th closing date. Woodring Campground might be best camping ground in state of Ga., its location is perfect being on the water. Being a teacher, I have my Spring Break in April, and my Fall Break in Oct. ( almost every school system in the State, uses the same dates?) I have always camped at WR for my fall break. Doll Mountain camp sites are away from the water, and the location isn't secluded. Hopefully, you would reconsider your closing date back to the end of Oct. like you have done in the past.

We stayed at campsite #13 and was blown away by the view. The sites are very much on the edge of the water (like throw a rock!) and were very clean. I would go back here in a NY minute.

Beautiful park; very well maintained. The camp site was great with the wood platform facing the lake. We will plan for another stay on this park in the near future.

We really liked the way the camper spots were private. At some campgrounds they're so close together that the campers next door are right in your face, good job at Woodring - you have a little privacy!

Clean well maintained large campsites, small beach, boat ramp, restrooms, trails, and great staff on the north side of Carters lake. Recreation.gov website was informative, easy and efficient.

From Atlanta, take I-75 north to Exit 293; follow Highway 411 north. Turn right on Highway 136, then left on old Highway 411. Turn right on Highway 282/76. Campground is located 4.5 miles off Highway 282.
From Ellijay, GA, take Highway 282/76 west for 11 miles to the access road and follow signs to the campground.
