Nice level site #19 with excellent views of the lake. Some fallen debris needs to be cleared.

Bath house needs some attention soap dish broke in one shower stall nowhere to hang clothes or towel . Would not hurt to cut some undergrowth off banks where better view of lake. Staff was very friendly and nice .

The camp ground itself is good. The "beach" needs the sand to be cleaned for safety of young children. The bath houses need work. There were never any paper towels in the holders and only once was there soap. The shower area needs benches, hooks, shower heads, and shower curtains. They also need painted. The shower looks old and not clean. It didn't smell dirty so I believe it is just the age that makes it look bad. A coat of paint and inexpensive repairs would make a huge difference. My experience is on the first bath house. I am told the other is better.

Duckett Mill has always been one of our favorite places to camp, but the downed trees were so bad in the camp grounds. Why can't these be cleaned up before snakes nest in them?

We've been camping at Duckett Mill on Lake Lanier for years. Most of the spots have plenty of shade, and a beautiful view of the lake. Many spots are in coves, so you can keep a boat close to your campsite if you choose, or put in/out of the water at the boat ramp located just outside the campground. There is plenty of extra parking for trailers or additional cars.
It is disappointing that they have not maintained the playground area. They've torn down the old playground that was there, with no indication of rebuilding, and the rest of the facilities for kids/families (horse shoe pits, bat boxes for watching the night critters fly around, etc) are not being maintained and are in very poor shape. Every campground should have a playground for kids.
There is a beach area, but that is also not maintained. There was a lot of trash, rocks and lake matter all over the beach. A rake and some TLC would do that area wonders.
We will likely be back due to the convenience to our house, but will also be looking for new campgrounds to start visiting that are better maintained.
