The campgrounds are nice and clean, right on blue lake beautiful views . the park ranger was very helpful and friendly. Made rounds often to checking on everyone but not intrusive . I recommend taking a senic drive 40 miles round trip loop thru the mountains fall foilage, head south East on Route 60 to intersection Route 19 turn left head North to Route 180 turn left onto 180 will take you back to route 60 turn right to back track to Morganton point.

I am very thankful the staff called us to inform us the campground was closed due to hurricane Zeta damage. Didn’t get to camp..

Beautiful campground with huge sites. Very quite and serene setting. Walking trail along the lake. The location was perfect for us as we were doing day hikes to local waterfalls in the National Forests and Appalachian Trail. Staff was great. Services/shopping nearby. Exceptional value, we highly recommend.

One of the best campgrounds I've stayed at. Site 21 was almost level and large. Sites were separated a good distance. The lake was down so we enjoyed walking the shore. Want to kayak when we go back.

Loved this campground! Lakefront sites were amazing. We had site 7, great access to lake, but backwards, our camper door faced opposite from table and fire ring, but still worth it. Site 6 had great sunset lakeview. Clean updated restrooms. Attentive people checking us in, even decorated their sign nicely for fall. Sites seemed private and spacious. Enjoyed the lake, Blue Ridge, National Forest, and Helen, GA.

The walk-in campsite was all that was available for us, so we took it and camped in our tent for 3 nights. Beautiful sunsets over the lake each night, cool night temps and warm days. Very clean restrooms and great showers; we would come back, and try a regular campsite instead of the walk in. Very nice camp host greeted us.

Campers are able to utilize the day use area for free, but if you have a vehicle parked in the day use parking lot then you have to pay the day use fee. You can be dropped off at the day use area and park at your campsite if you like. |
