What Guests Are Saying
Kipahulu Campground offers a stunning location with breathtaking views, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. The campground features spacious sites, well-maintained bathrooms, and close proximity to the beautiful Pipiwai Trail. While some campers experienced noise disturbances and the campground lacks water and showers, the overall serene atmosphere and natural beauty make it a memorable experience for many.

Most beautiful campground I’ve ever stayed in. We booked 17 and it was by far the best site despite no camper van access. Staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, we can’t wait to recommend this to others!!

BEAUTIFUL place to camp!! Actually one of my favorite spots we stay at. We woke up to the sounds of the sea, amazing. Very spaced out and secluded. One thing is you have to pay a $30 entrance to the park which i didn’t know. Also no showers so prepare for that. Otherwise it was perfect!

We stayed 1 night at Kipahulu campground. It was a good, cost-effective place to camp to break-up the road to Hana drive into 2 days. The campground was very spacious, and even when they allow maximum capacity, the sites are still spread out enough to not feel crowded. The location is great, right next to the ocean and a short walk to the Pools of ‘Ohe’o. Also, easy access to the Pipiwai Trail for a nice hike. Would stay again next visit to Maui.

Why are there only some campgrounds open? I mean due to COVID-19? It is all outside! Unfortunately there is no sink, no shower nor tap water down at the campground. At the visitor center bathroom there is after park closing time no light, but at least it is open so one can use the sink.
Check in time is quite late especially if nobody uses the campground before hand there is no need in not letting someone put up is stuff right away, especially in bad weather situation.
It is confusing that one has to pay park entrance fee after already purchasing a camping permit. This should be pointed out more clearly when booking the campground as it is five times the price we originally thought have to pay.
