Kipahulu Campground offers a stunning location with breathtaking views, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. The campground features spacious sites, well-maintained bathrooms, and close proximity to the beautiful Pipiwai Trail. We loved our campground. We had site 16 and it was right on the water - perfect for hanging a hammock in the Hala trees and waking up with the sunrise over the Pacific. Obtaining the site is a tedious process especially when in a different timezone. Overall, worth it!

Regular restrooms at visitors center. No showers to be found. The road to Hana to drive here only has two way stations from one direction none from through the cattle land. Spot 16 has no grill but is unbelievable beautiful.

Really enjoyed the convenience of Kipahula campground right next to visitor center at Haleakala National Park just past Hana. Shade was not easy to come by but ocean breeze definitely helped and listening to the waves at night was soothing

I would 100% give it 5 stars if it wasn't because of the lack of water faucets in the main camping area. Everything else is amazing, the view, the easy access and the simplicity of the overall site

Amazing environment! The view is stunning, the place is super calm, ideal temperature, and very well maintained, highly recommended for a calm night after Hana road!

Good location, but please have an on-duty manager to monitor and educate / enforce rules, or at least be available by request. Called around 7 pm on a busy holiday weekend about an issue of another party not following rules, and no one was available. Told they only are available until around 5 pm!

We arrived "after hours" and the check-in process was straightforward. I felt cared for, with the thoughtful way there was a card out for me with my name on it at check-in station, and at my campsite, like someone had thoughtfully prepared for my arrival.
The whole compound was extremely well-cared for and peaceful, serene, clean and beautiful.
The staff I spoke with were so friendly and kind. I felt welcomed and welcomed to return again.
