What Guests Are Saying
Huckleberry Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts who take pride in their work. The beautiful setting by the river offers opportunities for relaxation and outdoor activities, making it a favorite for families. However, some guests noted noise from nearby logging trucks and felt that the pricing was high, especially regarding additional fees for electricity.

The campground itself was clean and sites were spacious. Campground is close to the road which is busy early morning till late afternoon with logging trucks; very noisy!

Overall good experience and nice campground on the river. Unfortunately they were doing road construction on the road very close to the campground. Very dusty and loud as well as a lot of loud logging trucks up and down the road all day long.

Since initiating reservations, Huckleberry Campground has become one of our favorite camping choices. The current camp hosts are exceptional and take so much pride in making sure ever camper has a memorable visit to the beautiful St. Joe River.

Love this campground! It fills quickly, so make sure you get a reservation. The camp hosts are very friendly and helpful and they work hard to make camping here an excellent experience. The campground is well maintained and family friendly. Kids love riding bikes and skateboards here. Make sure to bring a hummingbird feeder! We put one up and had at least 5 different hummers (1 Rufus, 1 Black Chinned, and 3 Caliopes who fought over the perches). We also love hearing the birds sing here! I would have given the campground a 5 star, but on our last trip here, someone who runs the campgrounds decided that dead wood near the paved access road needed to be chipped and shredded and spread throughout the campsite. Not only was this LOUD (for several hours), but seemed stupid. The workers (who were nice enough, they were just doing what they were told) said they had been told to do it to reduce fire hazards. This is ridiculous. All they did is put the wood back out into the forest and get rid of wood campers could use for their camp fires. If they really wanted to eliminate deadwood, they should gather it and encourage campers to use it in their fire pits. Or, encourage campers to gather deadwood on their own. But, other than the obnoxious noise of the Chipper/Shredder, we had a wonderful stay.
