What Guests Are Saying
Coon Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with clean facilities, well-maintained campgrounds, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the picturesque views of Lake Shelbyville and the quiet atmosphere, making it a favorite for families and nature lovers. However, some concerns were raised about the lack of fish cleaning stations, narrow parking spaces, and the need for improved arrival hours for campers without reservations.

While camping at coon Creek I decided to tour the other 3 campgrounds. All were nice and offered different amenities. I would still choose Coon Creek because of the shade and distance between campsites. Restroom and shower facilities are good. Gate attendant was very helpful in moving me from a poor site (16) to a shaded secluded spot (149). Not as crowed as I thought they would be over a weekend. Little store just outside the campground was well stocked.

Stayed at site 181. Nice site, only problem is table can’t be moved and the way the site is set up the table and fire pit are behind the RV instead of on the side with the door. Power is also down the steps and an extension cord may be needed if your cord is t very long. Other than that it’s a very nice campground.

Clean sites. Great shower facilities. Well stocked camp store, with friendly service. Super nice boat ramp with courtesy dock. Nice out of the way cove with no wake zone and plenty of room to move around. Nice beach, with shared life jacket program for the kiddos. Laundry facilities. Playground.
