What Guests Are Saying
Clark's Ferry Campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and beautiful views of the Mississippi River, making it a pleasant stay for visitors. The location is convenient for exploring nearby attractions like Wildcat Den State Park and offers a peaceful atmosphere, particularly during midweek. However, the proximity to active train tracks results in frequent noise, which may be a drawback for those sensitive to sound.

It was very nice and clean. A few draw backs. Some people had barking dogs that would not stop at all. I complained to the camp volunteer who did nothing. They barked non stop for three days... Also a ranger asked someone to move a vehicle since these people had 2 cars, and RV and a boat all in one spot. They went to the camp volunteer and where told just leave it (it was part way in the road and people had to maneuver around it) and wait for the park ranger to leave. So rules aren't enforced at all to the detriment of everyone else. It was beautiful though, nice level pads and easy access.

Stayed in spot 2. We needed three hours to reach the spigot. Otherwise, the stay was excellent. It's a small ,quiet location with good spacing between spaces. The trains are loud but I didn't mind. that noise.

Campground was open and spacious. Nice campground to see La Cross and surrounding area. Easy access to hiking and biking trails. Site was laid out well with plenty of room for Motorhome and Toad.

I had a site right on the river (last riverside site at the south end of the park). It was great to watch the barges and boats go by. Nice quiet park except for the occasional train. I was only there for 1 night, but would go back for longer next time. Park Host greeted me on arrival and directed me to my site - very friendly lady.

ONLY downside was the train during the night, but you soon got used to it. The shade was great, the site was level and on concrete, and was quiet (except for train). Site was easy to park in. Ours was a backend but with plenty of room. Great river view and enjoyed the barges going up and down river. We will be back again. Making reservations online was easy AND FREE!

Host was very friendly and helpful, also very accommodating to our needs. Plan to be back whenever in area. Tug boats pushing barges in the river are a plus.
