What Guests Are Saying
Clark's Ferry Campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and beautiful views of the Mississippi River, making it a pleasant stay for visitors. The location is convenient for exploring nearby attractions like Wildcat Den State Park and offers a peaceful atmosphere, particularly during midweek. However, the proximity to active train tracks results in frequent noise, which may be a drawback for those sensitive to sound.

Weather was PERFECT! Highs in low 70's, Lows in low 40's. Drizzle the morning we arrived and overcast the day we left Oct 11-21, 2021. good fellowship and many campfires with friends. Got some good exercise harvesting some downed branches cutting and splitting and biking with our two Shih-Poos on lead. A little too windy for a nice campfire the last evening so we ended up leaving some un-used firewood for the next weekend campers.

Our trailer sat 40 feet from a busy railroad. Now I love trains, the roar of the engine and the the whine of the wheels on he track. But the train horn blasting at the crossings at each end of the campground was more than we could handle. And it scared the hell out of the dog.
We spent one night then left.
As for the campground itself, it’s typical of ACOE. Site are level showers clean and the water hot. Play ground for the kids and a boat ramp for dad. This section of the Mississippi runs east-west so we had a great sun rise and sunset.
Minus the train horn it would have been a perfect stay.
I would recommend getting a site near the river and as far from the railroad as possible.

It is ALWAYS a great relaxing experience here. The hostess is the best and will do anything for you to make your stay enjoyable. Everyone who is near this area needs to camp here and experience the atmosphere!!

This was a great place at a great price. We were fortunate enough to get a site right on the river. The campground was quiet at night and the neighbors friendly. The trains running past on some nights might have been a problem for some people, but we acclimated to it quickly. Not a problem.
One additional point, the restroom/showers were immaculate! Added much to the comfort of our visit, since we only had electrical hookup, but because of the showers, electrical was all we needed.
When we come by again, we will make this a for sure stop.

This is my 2nd stay here. I really like this campground. Views of the River vary and like all along the Mississippi, the trains can be loud but you get used to it. I was was on site 16 that is a lot more overgrown and blocking the water than the website shows.
