Howell Station is a highly praised campground known for its spacious, clean sites and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for families. Campers enjoy the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and numerous recreational opportunities, including biking and wildlife watching. Some minor improvements are suggested, like better Wi-Fi and complete hookups, but overall, visitors have had great experiences and plan to return.

We always enjoy our stay at Howell Station Campground. Very beautiful Campground with the grounds and facilities always kept pristine and clean. We enjoy the space given to each campsite and not stacked into close proximity to other campers as with so many campgrounds. The majestic mature trees are absolutely breathtaking. We love seeing the abundance of wildlife in the area, whitetail deer, bald eagles, many species of waterfowl and the many playful squirrels residing in the campground just to mention a few. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The beautiful city of Pella is just a few miles away if we happen to need anything. The only down is being restricted to 14 days of camping within a 30 day period, especially in the off season in the early Fall and Fall when there is an abundance of open campsites that could be used...and of course the closing in October for the season. We always look forward to the reopening in the Spring and camping at Howell Station. It is truly our happy place, to relax, unwind and enjoy!!

We were very impressed, first time camping in Iowa. Camp host went above and beyond and saved me $28 camping fee. Bathrooms were clean, big site, easy getting in and out and quiet. Hope to make it an annual gathering spot for our family gathering

I thoroughly enjoyed this campout. The weather was perfect. Just wished the smaller trees would grow faster to provide more shade, but in due time, it will eventually happen. I wish there were more handicapped spots with a concrete pad. It would definitely make it easier on me. Trying to find a flat site is a hit and miss game each year. But that does not deter me. I still come camping!

Very well maintained! Pella has many amenities nearby. The Volksweg bike trail is accessible from the campground and is great. Super nice hosts.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Howell Station. We were in site 112 backed in amongst big trees right on the river. The campground was kept up very well. The opportunities for walking and biking were all around us.

Love camping at Howell down amongst the big trees and the walk/bike path. But plan for a lengthy wait at the dump station when leaving.

The location is beautiful and an easy drive into Pella Iowa. The bathrooms were clean and the RV spaces are spread out nicely. It would be a 5 star experience if they had sewer hookups.
