What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

The campground is awesome,it's my favorite of all the Corp of engineers campgrounds. The spot we stayed T was my favorite of all the places we had camped at.The facilities are older but clean. The only negative that we see is there is only one place to dump the sewer and trash and it created a really long line.We had a problem when we arrived, because the previous campers in our spot wasn't out of the site like they were supposed to get and we had to wait two hours just to get in our site and it was pitch black and I had a narly
time backing the trailer in and setting up in the dark, I'm new at travel trailers so it was extra stressful but after that it was the most peaceful 3 days we have had in a very long time. It was great and we can't wait to go back.

Axtel is our favorite campground within 2+ hours of Louisville... and it's barely 50 min from our home! Axtel has been calmly quiet and extremely clean. We can't wait to come back soon.

we have been visiting Axtel often for the last 3 years and we always enjoy our stay. we have grandchildren who like to camp with us, and during the warm months they swim and kayak with us at Axtel. they also take their bicycles and can ride all around the campground. my husband and i have a golf cart and enjoy being able to use it as well. the attendants are very friendly and helpful, and do their jobs well. all in all,we have never had a bad experience and will continue to visit this campground in the future.
